Integration for efficient and low-carbon buildingsEngaging with the Green Deal, RHI and other schemes
BCIA National Conference & Exhibition 9th May, 2013 St. Johns Hotel, Solihull.
Delivering building performance - why it matters.
Delivering performance is the key to engaging with incentives such as the Green Deal and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). The use of performance guarantee
contracts is also growing, putting the construction industry under further pressure to deliver what's promised. The problem is that buildings often do not perform as they were designed to. This is especially true where low-carbon technologies are concerned.

A lack of joined-up thinking at the design stage, construction and
through to occupation and beyond. The solution?
Better integration across the construction team - and beyond
to create buildings that are designed for efficiency from the start. There also
needs to be integrated thinking from energy managers - joining up controls,
information from building energy management systems and occupants. Making it
all work together is the key to long-term energy efficiency.
